Hello beautiful people!
Scrolling through the never-ending Reader Feed of people I follow on WordPress, I happened to find a really interesting tag that Hidden Behind Hardbacks did. It’s called the I Heart #Bookstagram Tag, which basically introduces people to your Bookstagram and also helps you find others who utilize Instagram.
Pretty neat, eh? Let’s begin!
What’s your Instagram handle?
How long have you been in the Bookstagram community?
The first post on Bookmark Your Thoughts Bookstagram was April 2, 2017. I have my own personal account, which I’ve had since 2014. However, it was hacked so I had to start from scratch…
My Bookstagram is still fairly new and I’ve only started to find the aesthetic that I want for it. Before, it was a lot of random pictures. It’s one of my main focuses for the next couple of months.
How many people do you follow?
How many followers do you have?
What are your favorite hashtags?
#bibliophile | #booklover | #booksofinstagram | #bookdragon
What is your favorite genre of pictures?
I tend to really like nature ones and those that are very minimalist; the images that are wooden and white background in addition to being very clean and crisp. Basically like the ones I have started recently but they are way better than mine ha-ha! Also vintage style!
How often do you post?
I try to post 3 days a week. Wednesdays are images of the book I posted a review for on WordPress, with a link to the review. The two other days are simply random posts of photos, sometimes associated with Bookstagram tags!
How often do you check Instagram?
Honestly, Instagram is probably my favourite social media outlet so I scroll through it almost daily. Photograph is just one of those things I really enjoy, which is probably why I also love Tumblr.
What is your favorite filter?
It depends. Outdoor ones I typically don’t use a filter. I simply adjust the brightness, sharpness, saturation, and warmth. For my other photos, I use Afterlight and VSCO Cam. I found some really nice filter settings that people provided (found them via Google Images) to users for VSCO. The minimalist one is usually my go to, with some tweaks.
iPhone only, purist or rebel?
No iPhone, so none of the above! Ha-ha! I use my Android (Galaxy S6), but I would love to buy a camera during the upcoming Black Friday sale so I can start taking more professional looking photos, in addition to taking some photography classes!
What is the best part about being in this community?
All the pretty photos! I have an obsession with photography, though I’m not very good at it. It’s a new skill set I would like to harness. The community is also full of really nice people! I find the people are very friendly and approachable, creating a nice atmosphere.
What is the worst part about being in this community?
I have three: the feeling that my photos are horrendous in comparison to everyone else; the concept of Instagram stories and them appearing in your feed; and the follow/unfollow people. Like really, can you just either follow me or ignore me? I find that extremely rude. I DO have an app that shows who has recently unfollowed me, so I can simply unfollow them if I so choose. I usually only follow if people have photos that are to my liking and not simply because they followed me (seems rather weird and childish to be frank), but I hate when people follow then unfollow.
Three favorite IG accounts currently?
I have too many! I guess my top ones would be:
There are so many more but the list would be so long!
I hope you enjoyed this! If there are any kind of Bookstagrammers you are looking for in particular, let me know and I’ll try to point you in the right direction! Hidden Behind Hardbacks, the one who I saw did this post, also has a really wonderful Bookstagram called @fearlesslyfictional !
Also, you are all tagged! Please pingback this page for I would to read your posts and check out your Bookstagrams!
