Top 5 Wednesdays: Genre Benders

Hello beautiful people!

The topic for this weeks Top 5 Wednesday post is genre benders: books that defy genre or are hard to place in a certain category.

Cool thing is that I’ve read a LOT of genre bending books, more than I originally thought. So let’s get to it!

FIVE. The Thief Lord by Cornelia Funke

Themes: Fantasy; Mystery; Adventure

FOUR. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Vol. 1 (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen #1) by Alan Moore, Kevin O’Neill (Illustrator)

Themes: Historical Fiction; Alternate History; Science Fiction; Fantasy; Steampunk

THREE. The Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allan Poe

Themes: Dark Fantasy (Fantasy & Horror); Gothic

TWO. The Gunslinger (The Dark Tower #1) by Stephen King

Themes: Dark Fantasy (Fantasy & Horror); Science Fiction

ONE. The Complete Fiction of H.P. Lovecraft by H.P. Lovecraft, Eric Carl Link (Introduction)

Themes: Dark Fantasy (Fantasy & Horror); Science Fiction

There are SO many more genre bending books; you’ve probably read way more than you think. What are some genre bending books you know of?

Happy Reading!
