July Wrap Up 2018

Hello beautiful people!

…now that I’m becoming “pretty active” again…I’ve realized that I haven’t posted one of these since FEBRUARY OF THIS YEAR!! #whatjusthappened

It’s okay though…since I plan to use this as a way to keep on top of everything ha-ha!

Lola and the Boy Next Door (Book Two) by Stephanie Perkins

Lola and the Boy Next Door is an utterly adorable read, grasping the realness of that fine line between friendship and romance … A fun and fast read, Lola and the Boy Next Door is a grand coming of age romance that won’t disappoint the little romantic inside of you.”

Isla and the Happily Ever After (Book Three) by Stephanie Perkins

Isla and the Happily Ever After beautifully and poetically closes off Perkins’ incredibly enticing YA romance series with a bang! … A comical and loving coming of age novel, Isla and Josh’s raw passion and magnificent connection will have readers at the edge of their seats and grasping for more until the final chapter.”

Aristotle and Date Discover the Secrets of the Universe (Book One) by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe is an elegantly written coming of age story, one that’s truly unique in the realm of YA literature … An addictive story with tremendously brilliant characters, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe is nearly impossible to put down!”

There are a number of bloggers who do a “shout out” section in their wrap ups, where they basically state some of their favourite blog posts and reviews during the month from other bloggers. I absolutely love this idea, so I’m deciding to give it a go!

The ABC Book Challenge – A Book. A Thought.

Book Blogger Test – meltotheany

How to write an effective Netgalley bio – BookBum

More Book Recommendations For Your Hogwarts House – Inside My Library Mind

I did not request any NetGalley Books during July 2018.

So…I’m a little behind…but don’t worry…I have a plan…muah ha ha ha ha!

The only major change I can think of is that I added a new subheading under Simple ThingsFun Tags and Awards. I noticed recently that a lot of awards and tags aren’t necessarily “book” related, so I want to keep them separate. The other “new-ish” this is that I’ve been changing up my book reviews. I really enjoy the “Pros” and “Woes” list; it’s easier to place my thoughts down.

I’ve also been trying to keep my blog looking clean and consistent by adding these heading images through the use of Photoshop; I love consistency.

Some things I plan to do in the future are more Bullet Journal posts and a new weekly tag that I found recently.

  1. Your reading challenge looks like mine! I’m at 37/100 and 20 books behind schedule. (It’s a little inflated because I like to rate my comic books and Goodreads counts those so I upped my goal accordingly) Looks like we are both playing catch up.

  2. Sounds like you had a super productive month and I love the new format for your reviews. Good luck with the Goodreads challenge. I’m sure you’ll smash it. Hope August is kind to you! 😀
