Bullet Journal October 2018

Hello beautiful people!

Soooooo close to actually posting this before the beginning of the month. I actually finished the my October spread on time, but then life got in the way. I’ve been trying to get back more into yoga and other forms of fitness, so blogging has been somewhat secondary. Anyways, it’s still PRETTY early in the month so if you want to copy this spread you definitely can!

One thing you’ll notice is a slideshow of the previous month in this post. For next month, I plan to post my completed October layout in a slideshow rather than simply placing a slideshow of the previous month not filled out…but I wanted to see how popular this is first before deciding to make this a permanent part of the post.

I found a few resources online regarding this spread. When researching layouts, I tend to go to Google Images and Pinterest; there is the odd occasion that I’ll go on Instagram too. The main source I used can be found here.

The colours I used specifically for this set up are ABT 228, 623, and 912. For the Sakura Pens, I used number 01 to 03. Side Note: The little dots on the “Weekly View” pages are trackers for my water intake; one dot equals 1 cup of water.

For October, I wanted to try not having two pages for the title page. In addition, I compressed my blog states and monthly calendar view into one page with the addition of an important dates section. I’m not sure how I feel about this yet, but we shall see.

The habit tracker changed quite a bit. I remember doing a layout like this back in April and I wanted to give it a go again.

The cleaning section will definitely be different in 2019; I plan to have it at the beginning of the bullet journal so I don’t have to re-write it every month…it is an annual spread after all, so those all go at the beginning.

I also found a new way to layout my weekly spreads…which I am in love with! I find there’s more room to write.

If there’s anything else you want to see regarding bullet journals and my process, please let me know in the comments section!

QUESTION TIME! I want some honest opinions about the photo editing. I edit them to match my aesthetic for my Instagram, but it makes it hard to tell the actual colours – would it be better to leave it a clear and crisp edit or are the photos okay as they are?

  1. Your bullet journal looks so clean and beautiful. I started mine in a simple lined diary as of now just to see if I can do it properly when i buy it. Last month entries look so messed up. clearly I’m clueless how to start and biggest thing is I’m not good at decorating it. As for photos, they are good as they are.

    1. Thank you so much!! I definitely recommend that, especially since bullet journals aren’t cheap. One thing I would suggest is outlining the WHOLE month in pencil, but lightly; I find that helps me when make less of a mess when I start finalizing everything. Starting is the hardest part – it took me all of 2017 to FINALLY get into it, and it wasn’t until mid 2018 that I started to find a consistent way of outlining my monthly journal entries…and even then, I still tend to miss something. There are things I plan to change for my 2019 one, and I think I want to make a more minimalist bullet journal next year. I found some that have little to no colour and they’re really pretty. I would always have some colour, but I would like to have a consistent theme, such as floral or space…or a combo (I like drawing stars and planets ha-ha). One girl has a space theme layout and it’s STUNNING! She does it zodiac style and I just love it. There are SO many ways you can do it…that’s the fun part! And if you don’t like how you did it one year, you get to experiment the next (which is what I’m doing).

And thank you for the photo comment! I might try a bright and clear look for next month…we shall see!
