Hello beautiful people!
Happy 2019 to all of you! Winter as been INSANE here — yes, I live in Canada and should be used to this by now; but seriously, we are APPARENTLY beating some records on the snow and cold front.
Besides books and gaming (new PS4 from my epic friend FTW), I’ve been focusing a lot on personal health — physically and mentally. Hopefully these habits will continue on … though with some more reading time!
Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett
Rating:
“An undeniably adorable YA romance novel, Jenn Bennett’s Alex, Approximately is the perfect read to rekindle those “gushy” feelings of passion and young love. When Bailey moves to California for a fresh start, she begins her ultimate plan – to find her online soulmate “Alex” before the summer ends. But when she begins a “love-hate” entanglement with the gorgeous yet irritating “security-surfer boy” Porter Roth, things grow more complicated than she anticipated. A breezy summer read full of laughter and awe, Bennett’s standalone novel makes the thought of love so much more beautiful than it already is.”
Cocktails with a Deadman by Joe Albanese
Rating:
“Joe Albanese’s collection of poetry in Cocktails with a Deadman beautifully captures the rawness and realness of the multiple moments most of us experience in our lives. From the inability to find work in our high unemployment rate to the desire for something more in life, Albanese addresses a number of topics that most of humanity has experienced at one point. Elegantly written with a variety of poetic formats, Albanese’s collection of beauty is a must read for both the lovers of poetry and those who steer far from it.”

I did not request any NetGalley Books during January 2019.
My 2019 Goodreads Reading Challenge goal is 52 books…a book a week. Hopefully, this won’t be too much of a challenge this year ha-ha! I’m ONE book behind — but it’s only January! Lots of time!
In my November 2018 post, I talked about A LOT of things I want to focus on and things I want to get rid of. Removing my Twitter account and taking a REAL break from Instagram has helped a lot. I do plan to go back to Instagram, but I want to REALLY find my style of photography before I start up again.
Bullet Journal posts are going to continue as a large part of my blog…hopefully. It appears you lovely group of humans enjoy the posts, and I also really like researching more about bullet journal ideas.
The last thing is revamping my blog aesthetic. I’m currently talking with a lovely person on Etsy, who’s going to help me with my aesthetic. I really want to make it more minimalist and professional looking — though I’m keeping the tea cups!
Glad you had a good start to the year. I look forward to seeing your blog’s new aesthetic! 🙂

I’m playing around with it now and I think I’m almost done all the blog edits! I just have to go do this for my Goodreads and Instagram pages now ha-ha!

Looking forward to seeing your new aesthetic but just for the record I think your current aesthetics are gorgeous!

Awe…thank you! I do like them…but I wanted something different. I wanted a little more of a minimalist look, but the logos and headers I had previously had a lot going on ha-ha!

Well the new look also looks lovely! I like watercolours (obviously tehe)

Thank you! I do too (obviously hehe)! I find watercolour elements add that bit of colour but still look rather minimal — best of BOTH worlds! The woman who created all of this is absolutely wonderful!

I’ve taken a look at her link on your blog post, she has some lovely designs!!

I know eh?! I love the moon work she does — I was going to get something like that, but it didn’t really seem to match my theme, and it would defeat the purpose of having a more minimal aesthetic lol!

I love the moons, I think I’m awful at themes because I want them all and just can’t decide!

I know eh? I’m the same way … it took me a while to finally decide on the one I went with ha-ha! I also have an alternative header logo from her, which is nice so I can change it up once in a while 🙂

Ahh, how did I miss this? Thanks for linking to my post!! I love the new aesthetic (I’m not imagining it… it is different right?) ❤

Because you’re a busy bee! No worries! I didn’t realize how many things I missed as well — I’m trying to NOT be on the computer and social media all the time, which makes it hard to keep up with everyones lovely posts and the things I’m tagged in ha-ha!
And thank you! Yes it is! I’m going to do a post soon about it. And once spring/summer hits, I’ll be taking new photos for my feature images – these were just ones I already had that I took last year ha-ah!

I always open notifcations on here but I forget to look a them properly and that’s how I’m always missing things, gosh darn!!
I love the new look already, it’s going to be even more exciting when we get to see all the new images 😀

My problem is I’m not on here every day … so then my notification list grows … and then I get overwhelmed and run away ha-ah!
And thank you! I really like the February layout the best so far. I’m already planning out March 🙂

Thank you, darlin! I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did, which I’m super happy about. She has another book that’s coming out (or is out) that I want to check out — Serious Moonlight I think? Mel @meltotheany mentioned it in her Top 10 Tuesday post.
And of course! I truly love your posts – they’re always so well written and interesting – and that post was just adorable in general ❤

Thank you for mentioning my post! ❤ How did you like «Almost Midnight» by Rainbow Rowell? I read all of her books except this one!

Of course! I loved it! ALMOST MIDNIGHT was SO ADORABLE! I ended up posting the review sometime early February, but it just lovely. This is the only novel I’ve read by her, so I’m super excited to pick up more. If you like her work, you’ll definitely enjoy this one from what I’ve heard other people say 🙂
