The Liebster Award Number Five || Fun Award

Hey beautiful people!

Round five, here I come! This blogging community is so loving, I’m so glad to be apart of it. Thank you so much Zuky (the owner of BookBum) for tagging and nominating me for the Liebster Award! Zuky is an incredible blogger and a beautiful soul – she writes wonderfully detailed reviews and a whole abundance of other blog posts. You really should visit her site…though you most likely already have!

Already folks, lets get it done!

Here is some information about the Liebster Award from Norin’s own Liebster’s Award Post, which she, in turn, excerpted from Mischenko@ReadRantRock&Roll post, who originally nominated Norin for the Liebster!

“Liebster” is a German word meaning beloved, dearest, sweetheart, or darling.

For bloggers, the Liebster Award is an online recognition given by other bloggers to new bloggers for enjoying or appreciating their work. It highlights up and coming blogs.

The Rules

  1. Acknowledge the blog who nominated you and display the award.
  2. Answer the 11 questions the blogger gives you.
  3. Nominate 11 blogs.
  4. Notify those blogs of the nomination.
  5. Give them 11 questions to answer.

One. What is the longest slump you’ve ever been in?

The most I’ve gone without reading a book is probably 6 months? There are some years where I’ve read ONLY 2 books…those were some dark times…

Two. Do you prefer ARCs or finished copies of books?

ARCs are great, don’t get me wrong! However, the finished copy is always the best. As Zuky mentioned, the covers are finalized and the internal errors are USUALLY all gone.

Three. What is your favourite review you’ve written (not based on views/likes but your feelings)?

Hmmm…probably Dark Wine at Midnight by Jenna Barwin. It was NOT that great of a review and it still to this day only has 3 likes…but it was my first ARC review! Barwin put a lot of faith in someone who was SUCH a new blogger. I had barely done any reviews at that time. But she still asked me to review her novel. She also allowed me the pleasure of reviewing her sequel…and I’m definitely going to read the third book!

Four. What was the last song you fell in love with?

Let You Love Me by Rita Ora. This song is not only catchy, but it really hit home for me. I have what you might say…relationship issues? I make friends easily but I have a hard time connecting with people on a relationship level. Note: My exes were both wonderful people, so it’s not a “past relationship” thing ha-ha!

Okay…moving on…

Five. What type of YouTube videos do you most commonly watch?

Reaction videos…especially ones that are of people getting animals as pets or family members coming home in the military…I just love it! I also love comical stuff — gotta love those laughs!

Six. Do you have a favourite holiday? If so, why did you pick it?

I’m copying Zuky with this one! I absolutely love Christmas — the lights, the snow, the music, the movies and films, the loving aroma, the goodies, the winter activities — ALL OF IT!

Seven. Be honest: Have you ever bought a book mostly just for its cover?

Ummmm…obviously. Jenny Han’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series was definitely a compulsive aesthetic purchase. Thank gosh they ended up being amazing books! There’s definitely some others, such as classic novel special editions that are older and unique.

Eight. Do you like to keep your books pristine, or “lived in” them with highlighters, tabs, annotations, etc.?

Both! Mostly pristine, but there are the few that I have highlights in and little side notes. Those are mostly from my undergrad days — it was A LOT easier to take notes this way, and it’s actually really neat going back and seeing my notes.

Nine. What is the most money you’ve ever spent on one book, and would you do it again?

I’m assuming school books don’t count, because those weren’t really optional (some of those were over $100.00 CAD). To be honest, I have no idea. But I’ve been tempted to and totally would fork up some good money for some first editions…especially anything by Charles Dickens…

Ten. Do you use any method to keep track of your TBR, like a TBR jar, spreadsheet, notebook, etc.?

Well, I DO have a bookshelf thing in my Bullet Journal for 2019. In addition, I have a tracking system of what I’m currently reading on my monthly spreads. However, I don’t really have a TRACKING system. They’re just listed in my Goodreads.

Eleven. Roughly estimate this one: How many more books can you fit in your current shelves before needing a new bookcase?

None…he-he. I suppose that means I need to go buy a new bookshelf!

      1. I need some cheaty ways to store my books too as sooo many of them are in the loft at the moment and that makes me sad. Once I’ve moved in, I’m going to try and sneak books into various cupboards and see if Matt notices 😛

    1. Oh my gosh … that’s actually one of my nicknames that my friends called me in undergrad ha-ha! And of course! You definitely deserve this award!

Yea…my bookshelf is not looking good room wise…thinking of getting some shelves on the walls at this point.

Christmas is wonderful! I always feel so wonderful and happy that time of year ❤

  1. I really enjoyed your answers and thank you for tagging me! I’ll get to it, I promise 😉

I’m also addicted to the Rita Ora song, it’s so darn catchy! I have a problem when I find I’m really into a song is that I’ll listen to it on repeat until I drive everyone crazy. I’m now making people insane by listening to the Nothing Breaks Like a Heart by Miley Cyrus! But it’s just soooo catchy too!

    1. Thank you very much and of course! I can’t wait to see the answers! I know what you mean — I’m almost caught up with tags!!

I love that song … and it’s SO ME! Honestly, it’s scary how much I relate to that song. Oh … I do the same thing 😉 It’s all good. That song is catchy! I didn’t even realize it was Miley at first!
