The Versatile Blogger Award Number Two || Tags & Awards

Hello beautiful people!

My second time being nominated for The Versatile Blogger Award — super exciting!

Thank you so much Lauren @ twenty-seven letters for nominating me. I haven’t gotten to look around her blog as much yet, but from what I’ve seen it’s lovely! The aesthetics are gorgeous and I love how she writes little “if you like” items at the bottom of her reviews … it’s super smart (… and something I want to copy but feel bad doing so ha-ha). Makes sure to check out Lauren’s post and her blog!

Click here to read my first nomination, if you want to see the original 7 fun facts about me!

The Rules

These seem to be a little different from the ones I did last time, so I’m not quite sure which rules are the original … so I’m going with the ones that were on Lauren’s page:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Leave a link to their blog.
  3. Tell us 7 things about yourself.
  4. Nominate 15 bloggers/bloggers you’ve discovered recently or follow regularly.

One. I have an unhealthy obsession with Friends

It’s so baaaaad … back in 2017, my roommate at the time was flabbergasted that I hadn’t watched it yet; I’d seen random episodes, but I never watched the full show. So we watched it together … until I couldn’t wait for her and would start to binge each season. Now, I literally start from the beginning again every time I’m done. I know it sounds borderline insane, but this is actually my happy show — it relaxes me and helps me forget about the scarier things in life that I have a hard time emotionally with.

Two. I have YET to travel outside of North America

Okay … I AM working on this. Basically, I went from undergrad to masters to getting a good contract job to getting a full time job … AND I was one of those people that REFUSED to travel until my OSAP (school debt … which wasn’t too bad thanks to my epic parent’s) was fully paid off and I had a good amount of savings set aside. Now I’m a homeowner, so I want the first year and a half to save towards travel AND emergencies. It’s not like I haven’t traveled, but I’m excited to start exploring more … my mom and I plan to travel to I THINK Italy … she’s actually my favourite travel buddy, since we’re scarily alike!

Three. I’m a creature of habit (sometimes to a fault)

I love having a set schedule and routine … coffee in the morning, then fitness (if weekend, fitness evenings during the weekday), chores, reading … it’s ALL set to a schedule. I don’t even need to write it down, since I just naturally have an order to things. But sometimes, it causes me to NOT do things, like socialize and what not. I’m getting a lot better at this, thanks to a lot of my friends getting me out and about. And I always end up enjoying myself … okay … MOST of the time.

Seriously, if you’ve seen my Bullet Journal’s, this probably isn’t a real SHOCK.

Four. I LOVE listening to and watching Christmas and Halloween movies ANYTIME of the year

Oh yes … I’m that person you want to hit or “UGH” at because I love Christmas and Halloween ANYTIME of the year. I was literally singing “Feliz Navidad” the other day without evening realizing it until my colleagues pointed it out. And I watch so many Halloween and Christmas films all year round … it’s a sick habit … I know … I REALLY don’t care though ha-ha!

Five. Public speaking and I DON’T mix well

I can’t stand public speaking. Ever since I can remember, I’ve always had a hard time. When I was younger, it was because I was bullied pretty bad and knew no one cared when I was presenting. I think the mentality stuck, even though I know better now. It’s also the “center of attention” thing. I’m TOTALLY one of the talkers when my friends and I get together, but I don’t like all the attention on me. For instance, I love my birthday … but I don’t like big parties or anything to celebrate “me” … does that make sense? But yeah … I get MASSIVE panic attacks when I have to do public speaking … thank GOSH I don’t really have to do that anymore.

Six. At some point, I want to get my yoga instructors

I’m just gonna be real here … I’ve NEVER been into fitness. The thought of going to the gym or getting in shape just made me sigh forever in high school. Even in my early 20’s, I was always half a** about it. It wasn’t until I started yoga that I realized how much love I had for healthy living. Sitting all day at a desk job, the back pain was intense. So I tried hot yoga … and fell in love. And I reached the best fitness level I’d ever had during this time. Due to an injury, I had to stop yoga (power classes) for a while … but now I’m slowly getting back into it. If I stay this dedicated, I’d love to eventually get my instructors to help others as well!

Seven. I’m OBSESSED with Indie Alternative music

There’s just SOMETHING about it that makes me super happy. I love the beat/tempo and the chill vibe about it. I would LOVE to eventually go to an indie rock/indie folk music festival someday. Some of my favourites are: Gabrielle Aplin, Dean Lewis (technically pop but he’s always on the indie playlists), and The East Pointers.

  1. Oh my goodness, I love Friends too! I’ve seen every episode multiple times and can practically quote the whole show!

I, too, am freaked out over public speaking. I absolutely dread having to speak in front of people!

    1. Yup … me too. I was giving my friend relationship advice the other day and used a Friends episode as an example … my WiFi at home is “Central Perk” … it’s an unhealthy obsession, but I don’t care!!

Ugh … yes. It’s so weird, since I’m pretty chatty with my friends. But once I have to be the center of attention, I freak out.

  2. Thank you for the nomination!

I’m actually in the same situation as you in terms of travel. I’ve never been outside NA either. Like you, schooling and saving for a house of my own came first, but I’m building my savings back up with the express purpose of taking some trips in the future.

    1. Of course! 🙂 And yeah, that’s pretty much where I’m at … and my condo needed some expensive fixes, which didn’t help. BUT I plan to SUPER save this year so I can start exploring the world in 2020. What are your top 5 places you want to travel to first?

  3. I was actually thinking of going to Italy this September! :O Ofc, it’s much closer to me than to you, ahah. My plan was to fly to Naples and move north till Milan, than fly back to Portugal. (not sure if it’s going to happen yet, *fingers crossed*)! 🙂
Definitely come to Portugal if you get a chance! It’s the best place for beach vacations.

      1. I will! My friends who been to Italy before say its quite expensive 😦 All I know for now is that the entrance to Vatican is around 70 euros per person, you should definitely purchase the tickerts to these places online, to avoid lines (although, they have two lines – one to buy the tickets and one to exchange the online tickets… lol). Also, trip to Coliseum takes all day.
That’s all I know so far 😀 Oh, and a bottle of water is aparently 3 euros :O lol

  4. Great answers for this tag! Haha Friends is a great show! I remember when I first watched the whole series back in 2015. I haven’t gotten around to watching it again, but I listen to a podcast called Best of Friends that goes through every episode of Friends start to finish… they’re currently going through the series again, so if you thought you were crazy to re-watch it, they’re re-podcasting the show haha!
I hope you get to travel! It’s a lot of fun! Italy sounds nice, I’ve never been but I’ve heard it’s beautiful (like anywhere haha)!
I wish I could find that something I love that makes me want to get in shape. I love riding my bike, I even own a really nice bike that I put a lot of money into… and I’m lucky to ride it every so often because I’m just so unmotivated! :\ One day I hope to find my thing!

    1. Yus!! My people!! I just love this show. I was actually just watching it lol! I hope to travel soon too … I know I will! Just saving some mullah! And honestly, it took me almost 25 years to find some kind of fitness I enjoyed doing. I likr strength training, but yoga so much more. I’m pausing on strength training for the 30 days. But yeah, I just try to push aside the “i don’t wanna feelings” because I know I always feel better when I go.

You will!! I truly believe it!!

      1. Haha! You should definitely check them out! They definitely have a lot of content to listen to 😛
I feel you. I’m trying to do as much traveling as I can while I live at home… which who knows how much longer that will be.
It took me a long time to get back into biking, I just really need to be committed. My brother is really into it he bikes to work (because he kinda has no other option right now) and I wish I could do that.
        Haha, thanks! 😀

      2. I was GOING to do that, but my dad was pretty big on not spending money on travel until I was done school and had a good job … and I had moved out by then lol! It was a smart thing to say, of course! But still kinda sucked 😛 If you can, definitely do it.

Even the things that are your THING can be difficult to stay connected to. Even yoga, I love it … but I’ve taken breaks on and off. Same with strength training. My goal for 2019 is to just try and do something active everyday, whether it’s walking or yoga or rollerblading and so on. And of course! ❤

      3. Ah man, I see his point and all but still kinda sucks! At least you’re on your way to getting the funds to travel! 🙂

That’s actually a really smart idea! I should adopt it. Try to do some sort of activity daily. I wish I was so disciplined! I’m so good at making sure I do so many other things BUT activity!

  5. I’ve only seen a handful of Friends episodes in my life, but you talking about it makes me want to watch more of it! OMG I’m also a Christmas/Halloween-year-round person!! It drives all of my friends crazy haha 🙂 Thanks so much for nominating me!

    1. LMAO! I honestly can’t express my love for Friends. I think with all the bummer things I see on the news and such, I just don’t care for crime or depressing shows anymore (I still watch some though). Friends is that happy show back to simpler times … the one thing that kinda sucks is the lack of ethnic diversity, but they do portray religious and sexual orientation diversity, which is pretty big for the early 90’s.

YAY!! ANOTHER PERSON! I just love those holidays so much! I actually plan to watch Coraline and Halloweentown (yes, I know how cheesy it is and I don’t care lol) next month!

And of course! I hope you have fun with it!

  6. xThank you for nominating me, Jenna! Wow, we have a lot of similarities, haha. XD I LOVE Friends- I started it in 2017 too, and it’s my comfort show now too.😅I have actually cried laughing at The One Where Everyone Finds Out at least ten times, and no matter how many times I watch each episode, I just love it more and more.

I’ve also never been out of North America- more specifically, the U.S., haha. I really want to travel (Italy, yes, oh my gosh) but it’ll probably be a while before that happens…it’s okay though, I guess there’s a lot to see even in the continental United States.

Ahh, public speaking. That is also a no for me. I’m an introvert and while I’m super talkative around friends, I’m definitely “the quiet kid” in class. Thankfully I already got speech (which is required for graduation at my high school) over with and I’m praying I’ll never have to take a class like that again, lol.

    Great post!

    1. So cool! We both started it in 2017 AND it’s our mutual comfort show! I don’t know how I’m not sick of it yet … thank gosh I’m not, but no idea how I’m not ha-ha! Oh me too ha-ha! I also love the “JOEY DOESN’T SHARE FOOD” episode … I was dying of laughter … like stomach hurting laughter.

My friend and I want to plan a trip to Arizona next year, but I also want to explore more of Canada and the United States … so many places to travel and not enough time or money! I hope to go to another continent next year!!

The most WONDERFUL thing about being done school is the lack of public speaking I’m forced to do. I always thought I would be okay with it since I’m chatty with my friends … but nope … not a fan ha-ha!

Wow … we really ARE a lot a like ha-ha! Thank you very much! I can’t wait to read your post!

  7. I’m the same re. public speaking…. its just a no from me. I’m in HR and used to do Learning and Development which meant a lot of designing and delivering training. The designing I enjoyed but the delivering was not so fun. I realised that I was just anxious almost all the time so ended up making a decision to move into other elements of HR because I just hated public speaking so so much!

  8. OOoh I loved reading your answers. I always love these tags since we get to find out more about the blogger behind the scenes. I love a good Halloween movie anytime of the year as well. They are just so perfect themed for anytime, lol. Traveling is such an amazing thing, but totally easy to get pushed off until you’re settled in life. Italy might not be a bad place to start off with 😉 But you are definitely going to have a wonderful time now that you are starting to go for it! Wonderful post, and thank you so much for the tag, Jenna!! 🙂 ❤
