Bookish Naughty or Nice || Tags & Awards

Hello beautiful people! Now here’s the BIG question you need to ask yourself … were you N A U G H T Y or N I C E this year?

Well … Alex @ Whimsy Pages tagged me so I can find out … how kind of you, darlin’ (you bum — just kidding)! Oh … make sure to visit her blog and her Instagram, since they’re both absolutely amazing! Last year, my score was 5.5 out of 20; let’s hope I do either better or on par this year!

The Rules

↠ Tag & link the person who tagged you
↠ Tag and link Jenniely’s post, for she’s love to read everyone’s answers!
↠ Tick/cross off the ones you’ve done.

1 – Received an ARC and not reviewed it

YES. Technically … yes. There’s an ARC or two that I haven’t read yet, so I obviously haven’t provided feedback yet … getting there!

2 – Have less than 60% feedback rating on Netgalley

NO. I’m SUPER proud of this, to be frank! I only have ONE more book to read on Netgalley and then I’ll be caught up!

3 – Rated a book on Goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did)

NO. If anything, I could see myself posting here and forgetting to post on Goodreads ha-ha! But I’ve gotten a lot better at that!

4 – Folded down the page of a book

NO. Come on guys, you know me better than that! That’s the beauty of BOOKMARKS!

5 – Accidentally spilled on a book

NO. I’m not going to lie, there were a FEW times where I almost spilled on a book … but I successfully saved them all!

6 – DNF a book this year

YES. Unfortunately, there was a book or two that I had to DNF this year. But I don’t regret it, because it gave me more time to read other books!

7 – Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it

NO. There are definitely some pretty books that I purchased this year, but they weren’t simply because they were pretty. I’m WAY too poor for that ha-ha!

8 – Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework)

YES. But really, who hasn’t done this before? Typically it’s when I should be cleaning or working out … but that’s okay!

9 – Skim read a book

YES. I know, I know … THE HORROR! But there were just some parts of some books that required being skimmed … just saying.

10 – Completely missed your Goodreads goal

NO. Actually, I think I will complete my goal! I’m only a couple books shy of it! But even if I don’t, it’s not completely off.

11 – Borrowed a book and not returned it

NO. Technically yes? But this isn’t the question pertaining to a friend, so I’m assuming this means from like the library or something … which means NO!

12 – Broke a book buying ban

YES. Oh my gosh … so many times! It’s so bad … I tried so hard this year … it’s not my fault so many amazing books released this year!

13 – Started a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about

NO. I don’t think I’ve ever done this, or I haven’t in a long time at least. Once I start a review, I basically sit and finish it in one or two sittings.

14 – Wrote in a book you were reading

NO. I used to when I was in university a lot, but I haven’t in recent year.

15 – Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads

NO. Now … WHY would I do that when I want to achieve my Goodreads goal?!

16 – Borrowed a book and not returned it to a friend

17 – Dodged someone asking if they can borrow a book

YES. You know what the sad thing is? I’m pretty sure it was my mom … to be fair, I let my mom and dad borrow a lot of books this year!

18 – Broke the spine of someone else’s book

NO. Never, ever, ever, ever! That’s just … that should be illegal, just sayin’!

19 – Took the jacket off a book to protect it and ended up making it more damaged

NO. I did take the jacket off a few books, but they weren’t ruined! Woooooooot!

20 – Sat on a book accidentally

NO. If I did, I don’t remember at all ha-ha!

Oh boy … that was WAY too close for comfort ha-ha! Unfortunately, I was more naughty than nice in 2019 … but that’s okay! It was still a really good year in my opinion! Now … for the fun part — to tag some of you lucky peeps! Never any pressure and feel free to do this if you haven’t been tagged:

↠ Tracy @ Truffle’s Literary Wonders
↠ Sofii @ A Book. A Thought.
↠ Tiffany @ Read by Tiffany
↠ Alba @ Alba and Her Secrets
↠ Aurore @ Diary of a Black City Girl

  1. Woohoo, you didn’t hit the halfway score! I managed to get mine down from 7 last year to 5 this year. I am hopeful it will continue to go down as the years pass. I think I will always have a score of at least 1 though, I have no shame in DNFing a book.

  2. Ahaha, thank you, hun ❤ (or should I start calling you "bum" as well?! 😀 )

7/20 not bad at all! I got 9 and was a bit scared that Santa won't come with bookish presents this year, but I'm positive there are some wrapped up books under the xmas tree already 😀

Merry Christmas, hun! Thank you so much for being my number 1 motivation this year. Your lovely comments and energy pushed me to work harder on my goals, and I'm so grateful for that! ❤

    1. Ha-ha!!! It was such a fun tag! I’m working on another one you tagged me in as well ha-ha!

I SAW!!! YOU WERE SO CLOSE TO THE HALFWAY MARK! But that’s okay because you didn’t! Oh, I’m sure Santa will … he’s pretty forgiving that way 😉

Merry Christmas, darlin’! Oh my gosh … you’re going to get me all emotional ha-ha! I should be thanking YOU! You’re organizing, amazing posts, awesome graphics, friendly vibe, cheerful spirit and beautiful personality have made me want to push even more to be as great as you one day!

So thank you! I’m super grateful that we connected even more this year! Here’s to a fantastic 2020!! ❤

  3. I’m not surprised… I mean.. how could you be anything other than nice?! Your one of the nicest people in this whole comnunity! This was such a fun tag, I loved your answers 🙂

The dnf one… I have such a hard time with it! I mean if it’s an audiobook or something I don’t own it’s easier. But when I own it and spent money on it I’m too stubborn to accept that I’m just not liking it. I feel like 2020 should be the year of giving some books on my physical shelf a final try or else just unhauling them.

Also who buys a book JUST for the cover with no intention to read it?? Sure I sometimes have coverbuys… boos I might have not picked up if the cover hadn’t stood out to me so much… but having NO intention to read it at all? 😅

    1. AWEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! You are making me blush now ha-ha! Thank you so much! ❤ You're so sweet! It's people like you that make me so happy that I continue to be a part of this community!

It's taken me a LONG time to get good at DNFing. I just started to realize that there are so many other books I want to read, so why wait? I also got really good at borrowing books from the library, which helped lmao!

AND I KNOW, EH?! I'm not made of money! And the point is still to READ them! So silly ha-ha!
