The Christmas Book Blogger Tag || Tags & Awards

Hello beautiful people!

I know … Christmas is over … but I was tagged to do this by the wonderful Alex @ Whimsy Pages and it looked like so much fun! This holiday was rather busy, so I had NO time until my venture back to Ottawa to catch up on everything I was tagged in and posts I wanted to work on. So yes … I’m doing a Christmas tag … and I have another one scheduled shortly afterwards … THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT LIVES ON, FOLKS!

Thank you Alex for thinking of me with this tag! You’re such a doll! I’ve had a wonderful time getting to know you this year! If you haven’t visited her blog yet … YOU MUST! Honestly, her aesthetic and organization are goals! And she’s just a lovely person.

The original creator of this tag is none other than Between My Lines!

One. What Is Your Favourite Christmas Scene In A Book?

Oh … I’m 100% copying Alex and choosing Christmas at Hogwarts! Both in the film and book adaptation, the winter time’s just incredibly stunning and wholesome! It’s still my top pick whenever someone asks me this ha-ha!

Two. Do You Have Any Christmas Book Traditions?

To be honest, not really. I don’t see my family often, since I live about 7 hours away from them all. So come Christmas day, I basically hang out with the family the entire time. When I used to live closer to or with my parents, I would usually start reading whatever book (or choose one of the many books) I received as a Christmas present until family started coming over for dinner celebrations!

Three. Do You Prefer To Get Presents Of Book Vouchers Or Books?

It really depends. If someone really KNOWS my book taste (and knows I don’t already own the book), then I love getting a book (or more) to open Christmas Day. But I also love getting a book voucher to go out and buy my own books … it’s honestly the thought that counts, since most people know by now I’m crazy about buying WAY too many books that I can possibly hold in my condo ha-ha!

Four. Do You Give Books As Presents?

I have from time to time. If I know a person well and know they don’t have the book, I will buy them a specific novel. But for the most part, I buy them gift cards (which they’re very grateful for). A few of my friends have babies and toddlers, so I’m known as the auntie who buys them fun children’s novels … because someone has to!

Five. What Bookish Item Is On Your Christmas Wishlist?

I actually didn’t have too many … because I buy them for myself ha-ha! I do plan to get myself another book sleeve, some bookmarks and some bookish candles as a late Christmas gift to me! Some places I get these items are:

Bibliophile Belle’s Boutique
Library Lights

I’ve purchased a number of items from both stores and have NOT been disappointed.

Six. What 3 Books Would You Love Santa To Have In His Sack For You?

I had a few on my list, some of which I received! Three books I would’ve loved to have from Santa are:

↠ The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker
↠ she is wild by Wilder Poetry
↠ Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson

The ones in BOLD are books I ended up receiving for Christmas! YAY ME!

Seven. Fake Christmas Tree Or Real Christmas Tree?

I live in a condo and we aren’t allowed real trees, so fake. I’m trying to do more research into being more environmentally friendly though. My mom suggested I actually get a little Christmas tree (it looks like a house plant, but still large enough to decorate) and then you plant it once the season is over. I might give that a go next year!

Eight. What’s Your Favourite Thing About Christmas?

Hmmmm … I don’t really know. I love so many things! I think it’s that hopeful and blissful vibe. The beauty of the snow, seeing all the Christmas lights, spending time with family and friends, going to the markets … the whole package is just splendid!

Nine. What Christmas Book Would You Recommend?

I actually have no idea ha-ha!!! I don’t really have a Christmas book recommendation … I do love reading a cute romance/comedy during the holidays; there’s something very romantic about the whole thing in my opinion.

Ten. What Dish On Your Christmas Menu Are You Most Looking Forward To?

My dad’s broccoli salad … he makes it for me every holiday, since he knows I can’t have dairy and the only meat I eat is fish … so he likes to make sure I can eat something that I’ll really enjoy! I love it so much! Oh! And lemon meringue pie if it’s available (which is was this year)! Typically NOT dairy free (though my friend made me a dairy free version for my birthday), but I definitely caved and had a SMALL bite. Tis the season!

Eleven. When Do You Open Your Christmas Presents?

Some presents we open on Christmas Eve, if we are spending time with family then and not Christmas Day. But for the most part, Christmas morning. My dad makes us all cappuccinos, I turn on the Christmas Tree and fireplace, and my mom finds us some Christmas tunes. Then once we’re all settled, we take turns and open gifts!

Twelve. What’s Your Favourite Christmas Song?

Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee! It’s such a fun song! I’m pretty sure that’s my mom’s favourite song too ha-ha! It’s just a bundle of joy and great to get up and dance to!

Thirteen. Are You Dreaming Of A White Christmas?

I am … but we didn’t get one!! A very GREEN Christmas … so disappointed! I already told my mom and dad that they have to visit me in Ottawa next year; that way, we will most likely have snow Christmas Day! OR we might as well just vacation somewhere warm ha-ha!

Tag! You’re it!

I’m not tagging anyone, especially since Christmas has passed now. But feel free to give this a go!

  1. Thank you, hun ❤ Christmas is never over until we say it is!! 😀

Ahah, I think everyone who did this tag chose Christmas in Hogwarts, I only saw 1 or 2 people answer differently. But… it's the best! I watched 1st HP movie, read 1st book and played the first video game all on Christmas Day. So I think I achieved my "Christmas at Hogwarts" goal this year. Lol
