Hello beautiful people!
Thank you Meghan @ Meghan’s Whimsical Explorations & Reviews for nominating me! I’ve actually never been nominated for this award, so that makes things rather interesting! Meghan’s a fellow Canadian blogger friend of mine, with a heart of gold and a beautiful personality! I’m so glad her and I connected more in 2019, to which I hope the trend continues in 2020!
She also has a great wealth of information on her blog beyond book reviews (I love her music focused posts)!

One. How many books do you want to read this year?
My Goodreads Reading Challenge goal for 2020 is 40 books; however, I’d LOVE to surpass that and read even more … one day, I will reach 100 in a year!
Two. What’s one thing you are planning to leave behind in 2019?
Oh boy … there are quite a few things ha-ha! This could get REAL deep, my friends (I apologize in advance). I think one thing I REALLY want to work on is not being scared of vulnerability. It’s really nerve-wrecking to let someone in, especially when you feel as though you have so much baggage and s*** that you don’t want others to have to deal with. But I’ve come to realize there are a number of key BEAUTIFUL and MAGNIFICENT people in my life that don’t care about tall that, that still love me for who I am. So I want to work on knowing it’s okay to be vulnerable.
Aaaaaaaaaaand let’s move past that now ha-ha!
Three. What’s something you’d like to do/or gain in 2020?
I want to explore the world more! Not just having to travel outside of the country, but just to experience all the beauty of life! More hiking, kayaking, nature exploring … I simply want to start experiencing more amazing things about life that I’ve put aside because of money or time or other lame excuses.
I started to explore more in 2019, and it made my year so much more fun! So I’m hoping to keep this trend going!
Four. It’s nice to be important but it’s important to be nice. What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?
Ummm … people have done a LOT of nice things for me ha-ha! That’s a really tough question! I’m going to choose two that are from people who (at the time) were strangers yet still helped me out, since my friends and family help me ALL THE TIME:
↠ When I first moved into my new condo, our visitor parking was taken away … which I didn’t know until literally the day I moved in and had family coming from 7 hours away to help me with my move. I knocked on my neighbours door and asked where they would be able to park. They offered their extra spot for the entire weekend, free of charge. They also made sure I had the necessities like toiletries and such … they’re a very sweet couple.
↠ After a REALLY stressful day at work back in April, I went to this little local vegan store to buy a treat. The teller asked how my day was … even though I said it was an okay day, they could tell I was having a rough go. So they gave me a scone and drink free of charge to cheer me up.
Five. What are your hopes for your blog in the next year?
I really want to start providing a wealth of blog posts that help visitors of my blog, beyond book reviews. Focusing on bullet journal posts and discussion posts are high on my priority, since I receive a lot of positive feedback when I post those. But I also want to start sharing some lifestyle stuff, like organizational skills and travel tips. Though this will always remain PRIMARILY a book blog, I want to also provide more helpful tips for those with anxiety such as myself. Having a clean place, a bullet journal at hand, and ways to prep for trips and activities really helps me with my mental health. So I want to give back to those who struggle with the same things. This ALSO means I’d like to start reading more books that address mental health and such.
Oh! And to make more friends … OBVIOUSLY!
Six. Who or what are you most grateful for in life?
Oh … I’m grateful for a large number of people. My family, my friends, my partner, my colleagues, the people who help keep the world a better place … there’s a lot to people to be grateful for!
What I’m grateful for? Let’s get deep and just say it … LIFE! Seriously, LIFE is such a precious gift that so many of us take for granted. Go on that big trip, breath in that fresh air, eat that ice cream cake rather than feel guilty about it. There are so many precious moments that create this beautiful thing called life … and it’s fantastic.
Seven. Who is your favourite musician/band/singer?
The East Pointers ↠ My friend helped me discover The East Pointers back in 2018 and I’m absolutely in love with them. They’re a Canadian folk music band, with such a rich sound to them! This is currently my favourite song by them … almost on repeat ha-ha!
Gabrielle Aplin ↠ Funny story, I actually discovered her when I was obsessed with the TV show Teen Wolf. This song plays in season 3 and it just took my breath away … her music just makes you transport beyond this world, and it’s the most wonderful feeling.
Eight. What would you like to be remembered for?
Hmmm … I guess for being happy? Maybe my smile and laugh? I just want people to remember my love of the simple things and life. I’ve been told by more people than I can count (strangers and people I know alike) that I have a contagious laugh and smile, which I like to think is a very positive thing … I love making people smile. So I guess those things ha-ha!
Nine. Do you prefer Bookstagram or Book Twitter? Share your social links.
Oh … most definitely Bookstagram ha-ha! I’ve tried a few times to get into Twitter … but it’s not my thing, hence why I don’t have a Twitter account.
But Instagram is a whole other ballgame! I love how creative people are with their photos and such! I still have quite a bit of learning to do, but I’m slowly getting better!

Ten. Do you have a specific mug for specific beverages? Ex. a mug only for coffee, a mug only for tea, etc.? (I can’t be the only one!)
Nope! Sorry, Meghan! It’s free range with my mugs ha-ha! There are ones I use when I’m blogging or reading, since they actually say “professional blogger” or have a witty reading quote on it. But it’s basically whatever one I see first!
And yes … I’m one of the many obsessed with Baby Yoda (a.k.a. The Child) … so be prepared for countless Baby Yoda memes and GIFs.
