Hello beautiful people!
Wow … it’s been forever and a day since I’ve done one of these posts! Honestly, February hasn’t really been my best posting month … but I’m slowly getting back! I actually have a life recently besides reading and blogging …
I know, I’m shocked too. Any who, I hope you are all having a lovely 2020 so far and enjoy this post!

Book #171 | Pax by Sara Pennypacker
Date Added: May 02, 2017
Synopsis: Pax was only a kit when his family was killed, and “his boy” Peter rescued him from abandonment and certain death. Now the war front approaches, and when Peter’s father enlists, Peter has to move in with his grandpa. Far worse than being forced to leave home is the fact that Pax can’t go. Peter listens to his stern father—as he usually does—and throws Pax’s favorite toy soldier into the woods. When the fox runs to retrieve it, Peter and his dad get back in the car and leave him there—alone […]
I have NO idea why I haven’t picked this up yet … I keep seeing and saying that I should buy it, and then wait. So yes, I’m keeping this one … even though I KNOW I’m going to bawl my eyes out.
Book #172 | La Belle Sauvage (Book #1) by Philip Pullman
Date Added: May 02, 2017
Synopsis: Malcolm Polstead is the kind of boy who notices everything but is not much noticed himself. And so perhaps it was inevitable that he would become a spy…
Malcolm’s father runs an inn called the Trout, on the banks of the river Thames, and all of Oxford passes through its doors. Malcolm and his dæmon, Asta, routinely overhear news and gossip, and the occasional scandal, but during a winter of unceasing rain, Malcolm catches wind of something new: intrigue […]
OBVIOUSLY, I’m keeping this one. I was (and continue to be) completely and utterly obsessed with Pullman’s His Dark Materials trilogy, so I need to read this. But I want to wait for all three books to release … though I don’t know if I can wait much longer …
Book #173 | The Secret Commonwealth (Book #2) by Philip Pullman
Date Added: May 02, 2017
Synopsis: It is twenty years since the events of La Belle Sauvage: The Book of Dust Volume One unfolded and saw the baby Lyra Belacqua begin her life-changing journey.
It is seven years since readers left Lyra and the love of her young life, Will Parry, on a park bench in Oxford’s Botanic Gardens at the end of the ground-breaking, bestselling His Dark Materials sequence.
Now, in The Secret Commonwealth, we meet Lyra Silvertongue. And she is no longer a child […]
… same as the comment above … I’m keeping this for sure! I’m pretty sure there’s only one more book to release, so I might cave and FINALLY read these this year.
Book #174 | The Rosie Project (Book #1) by Graeme Simsion
Date Added: May 07, 2017
Synopsis: An international sensation, this hilarious, feel-good novel is narrated by an oddly charming and socially challenged genetics professor on an unusual quest: to find out if he is capable of true love.
Don Tillman, professor of genetics, has never been on a second date. He is a man who can count all his friends on the fingers of one hand, whose lifelong difficulty with social rituals has convinced him that he is simply not wired for romance. So when an acquaintance informs him that he would make a “wonderful” husband, his first reaction is shock […]
Maybe I’ve just been reading too many contemporary romances lately, but I just need a break. And after re-reading this synopsis, I’m not really feeling it. I’m sure it’s SUPER cute, but I think I’ll pass … I may change my mind one day ha-ha!
Book #175 | Coral and Bone (Book #1) by Tiffany Daune
Date Added: May 10, 2017
Synopsis: Halen knows the sparks igniting under her fingertips are dangerous. She has spent her entire life trying to quell the tingly feelings that make her destroy things, but now that she is back in Rockaway Beach, where she watched her father drown, the flames have become impossible to tame.
Halen is trying to hold on, but when she is thrust into a mysterious new world, the underwater realm of Elosia, she unravels the secrets of her past and can’t help but ignite. As she explores Elosia, she realizes her life has been a lie. And when those who have deceived her come to her for help, Halen must choose—walk away or unleash the magick that could destroy them all.
Meh … I don’t know … I just have no desire to read this. The plot does sound intriguing and it looks the rating does increase with each new book in the series, but I have no drive to pick this up.
