What book(s) have you been given as a gift that you loved?
Light Filters In: Poems by Caroline Kaufman
Technically, I won this book … but that still counts as a gift in my opinion! And I absolutely adored this poetry collection! Not only is the content itself remarkable, but look at that cover!!! I was blown away by the beauty of Kaufman’s works — I can’t wait to read more of her poetry!

What book(s) would you like to give as a gift to someone else?

This is just such a powerful and inspirational novel, that I really feel like everyone can take SOMETHING from this story. Hinton’s an amazing writer, creating a heart-wrenching yet authentic coming of age story that has left a permanent mark on me forever. There’s a reason why I re-read this novel a lot.
If you could gift a random person any bookish item, what would it be?
BOOK SLEEVES! I have to copy Kristin on this one. I have a new appreciation for book sleeves! I’ve literally become obsessed with them. They are adorable AND they really do protect your previous books! I already gave my one friend a book sleeve for Christmas and she loved it!
If you could gift a random person any non-bookish item, what would it be?
Oh my goodness … I’m not quite sure! We all have so many different likes and interests that a generic go-to gift is pretty hard in my opinion. Probably a candle or a gift card … that way, they can always re-gift it is they don’t like it ha-ha!
What do you say when a person gives you a gift you don’t like?
Obviously, I thank them. Like Kristin says, it’s the thought that counts. I’ve been told I’m pretty easy to shop for and impress, so this tend to not be an issue.
Mention a book based around Valentine’s Day
Is it bad that I haven’t actually read a book based around Valentine’s Day? I don’t think so, but now I’m curious about books that are. Any recommendations?
Mention any two tips for blogging as a gift to other bloggers and to those who may want to start a blog.
- Learn to find your own voice. One thing that REALLY draws me to certain bloggers is HEARING their voice in their reviews. Reading a generic review that sounds common or ordinary just isn’t as appealing. Find a way to really make your blog stand out and show who YOU are!
- Remember to take breaks — this is for fun, after all! If this IS your full-time gig, then I get why you may not take a lot of breaks. But breaks are HEALTHY! Blogging is for fun and to communicate with people — it’s not supposed to stress you out.
Link to some posts by other bloggers that you loved or were very helpful.

Thank you! And you do!!!! They’re absolutely amazing! I have multiple so that if I’m reading more than one book, they can all have their own home when I go to the coffee shop or travelling. And they actually do help keep your books nice ❤

haha, i definitely also stick to candles or gift cards as gifts! i’m a really bad gift-giving person, so it’s either i need to know Exactly what they want, or they get the generic candle/gift card. and i also agree that finding your voice as a blogger is super important! it makes you memorable, and it also makes things more fun for you to be yourself :)) great post, i loved reading it! ❤

I know eh?! It just makes life easier — I know people say gift cards aren’t “sentimental”, but I’d rather give someone something they KNOW they’ll love. if i’m not 100% about the gift for that person, that’s always my fall back ha-ha!
Oh yes! There are certain bloggers who’ve REALLY done a good job of doing that (you being one of them!). It makes you want to go back and read their posts — you know?
Thank you very much for reading it! ❤

Oh yay! I honestly love knowing more people love The Outsiders — such a beautiful book!
That’s how I feel — there’s a lot of deep and meaningful messages for so many different people, especially regarding some heavy stuff. My only wish is that it was longer ha-ha! And thank you! ❤

AH yes, you can’t go wrong with a gift card when you don’t know what else to give ahah, I do the exact same thing. And I love your advice so much and agree, breaks are so important to recharge, and remember that this is something we do for fun ❤

I know eh? I don’t know if that just makes me seem LAZY, but it’s honestly the best thing in my opinion if you don’t know what the person wants or needs.
Thank you ! i learned the hard way with breaks and burned myself out during my second year of blogging. I’m a lot better now though ❤
