Hello beautiful people!
This is SUCH an appropriate tag to be doing right now! It’s actually been gorgeous lately. Mind you … I wrote up this post the first week of April … so if the weather has changed since then, well then that’s just brutal. Seriously though, it’s actually been feeling like spring lately, which is a rarity where I live in Canada. To demonstrate what I mean, please see exhibit A below:

Thank you Meghan @ Meghan’s Whimsical Explorations & Reviews for tagging me to do the Spring Has Sprung book tag! As a fellow Canadian, she most likely knows where I’m coming from with the reference above ha-ha! She’s also an incredible blogger with a beautiful soul, so please make sure to visit her blog!
The creator of this tag is unknown. If anyone happens to find out, please let me know so I can give them credit. Thank you!

FLOWERS: All the flowers we remember are blooming again. Pick a book that’s a fresh take on a retelling.

If I’m Being Honest by Emily Wibberley & Austin Siegemund-Broka
Yup … I’m referencing this book once again in a book tag. I CAN’T HELP IT! I flippin’ love this book so much! I love how it’s a retelling of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew but only slightly … it’s really its own fun and interesting story about a young woman trying to discover herself during one of the most struggling points of our lives … the teenage years. It’s such a great novel … so you should read it.
CADBURY MINI EGGS: Obviously the superior springtime candy of choice. Pick a book that you consider to be a sweet treat.

THIS IS THE SWEETEST AND MOST ADORABLE GRAPHIC NOVEL EVER! I love these two little beans so much! Not only are the covers and the graphics inside adorable, but the story itself is just remarkably wholesome. It makes you remember the first time you had a crush, that feeling of falling in-love … it’s just so cute!
ALLERGIES: Seasonal allergies often make your eyes water. Pick a book that made you cry.

Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott
… saying I cried is putting it lightly … I literally BAWLED MY EYES OUT when I read this book. I was absolutely distraught! I knew going in that it was going to be hard to read, especially after YouTube Claire Wineland passed away. I actually meant to read this a while back but I couldn’t pick it up after I found out about Claire. Obviously, I didn’t know her in person. But she was this BEAUTIFUL soul full of life and goodness. She really just lived her life to the fullest. So reading a book about CF was pretty hard … but I’m so glad I read it.
SPRING CLEANING: Out with the old and in with the new. Pick a book to unhaul.

Prince Charming by Rachel Hawkins
I feel like this is cheating, since I already read the book. But I am donating it and the sequel since I know I won’t re-read them. The stories were okay, but nothing extraordinary for me. But I know there are some people that would absolutely adore it, and it’s such a great feeling to donate books to others!
SPRING BREAK: It’s the perfect time for an adventure. Pick a book involving a road trip.

Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han
Wow … I apparently have not read many books about road trips. So … you are all going to have to recommend me some good ones ha-ha! There’s a part in Han’s book where Lara Jean and (I think) her friend have a little road trip to view some school choices for after high school. I thought it was a really cute part, and it’s a pretty important part to Lara Jean’s character growth.
MATING SEASON: It’s that time of year in the animal kingdom to make some babies. Pick a book with some smutty delights.

There are DEFINITELY some “sexy” scenes in the second book to Armstrong’s Cainsville series … that I actually thought were really well done! Mind you, I didn’t KNOW these scenes were going to occur, so I was a LITTLE shocked to say the least ha-ha! Honestly though, Armstrong’s more intimate scenes are tasteful, making them give off the appropriate vibe without going overboard or making the whole situation awkward. She’s an incredible writer, so I’m not really shocked ha-ha!
RAINBOWS: I just feel like Spring is made of freaking rainbows. Pick a book featuring an LGBTQ+ character(s).

The Infinite Noise by Lauren Shippen
This was an ARC I requested and received on NegGalley last year, seeing all the hype from other ARC reviews. Honestly … super cute story! I was really intrigued by the characters and the unique plot-line! The only thing that sucks is I THOUGHT the series would follow these two characters but apparently the main characters change per book? We shall see. Anyways, I absolutely adore the two main characters … they’re adorable little beans!
SPRING AWAKENING: This is one of my all-time favourite musicals even though it’s filled with completely dysfunctional characters. Pick a book that’s also filled with completely dysfunctional characters.

Don’t get me wrong … the characters in Bardugo’s novel are FANTASTIC! Seriously … how epic can a cast of characters get!? But you have to admit, they’re DEFINITELY a little dysfunctional. They aren’t your normal cast of main characters, doing things and achieving goals through very “out of the norm” ways. I think that’s what made this book SO interesting and exciting.
IN LIKE A LION, OUT LIKE A LAMB: Pick a book series that didn’t get better as it progressed.

The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini
Honestly, I wanted to love this series so much! I adored the first book and like the second … but I started to really get annoyed with the third. It felt too drawn out, making me wish the author stuck with keeping this a trilogy rather a four book series. I kind of want to try it again, but I’m not sure if I ever will ha-ha!

I don’t see Eragon mentioned ever, that series definitely didn’t get better as it went on! This is such a great tag.

Thank you! And I know eh? I think the author should’ve left it as a trilogy, like originally planned. I think it would’ve been really good if he did.

AW Jenna, you are too sweet! 💞
Oh haha! YES! I very much relate to that photo! It kept snowing last week! I’m like, who called for snow in April? I think Mother Nature is confused! 😂
Ooooh I just bought the Lara Jean trilogy yesterday so I’m very excited to finally read it! 😀 But a book with a road trip that I loved was All the Bright Places! My favourite parts of the novel!
Oh! Six of Crows is a great answer for that prompt… I didn’t even think of that!
Great answers! 😀

I know eh?!? I spoke too soon in this post. Today we had snow … then rain … then snow … then sun … then rain … then snow … and now sun. I kid you not lol.
Thank you so much! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the Lara Jean trilogy!

Erm… I think they were alright. Sweet and heartwarming, but not something I’m into 😀 I don’t think I’ll be reading Vol 3, although it’s available online.

I loovvveedd this tag!! Also, I’ve been really hesitant to pick up five feet apart too and really can’t seem to get over that hesitation so the book has been on my tbr forever! And if I’m being honest sounds soo amazing. I’m definitely adding it to my tbr

It’s a beautiful book, but I totally get it! It was HARD to read — my emotions were everywhere. But it’s SO worth it! If I’m Being Honest is still one of my top books!
