Spring Cleaning Book Tag || Tags & Awards

Hello beautiful people!

As much as cleaning can be a hassle at times, I LOVE that feeling of a completely tidy and organized space … it’s just so refreshing! Every season, I do a declutter/donate/deep clean of the condo — so when I saw this tag pop up, I thought it was simply perfect to start off the month of May!

The Creator & the Rules

The creators of this tag is Amanda @ Between the Shelves! The rules are …

↠ Link back to the original post.
↠ Tag as many friends as you want.
↠ Have fun!

One. Getting started: A book series you’ve been wanting to read

The Folk of the Air by Holly Black

So many people seem to be in-love with this series, but I didn’t want to start and not be able to binge finish the series. Now that all of the books are released though … I CAN TOTALLY START THIS SERIES! I’m currently on a book buying ban … since I spent WAY too much money on books in April … but I do have the first book so I think I’ll start soon and then order the rest if I enjoy it!

Two. Cleaning/organizing the closet: The best way to organize books

Well, I have two bookshelves and then a few on my TV stand. The ones on my bookshelves are by author (last name), and then by series (chronological). The ones on my TV stand have no order other than my height … I just like having some of my favourite spine covers on the TV stand as decor … he-he.

Three. Getting rid of unnecessary things: Book/series you no longer need

I just did a HUGE donation for books, so I can’t remember when ones I donated. Basically, I remove books that I either (a) don’t re-read and/or (b) don’t care for the covers as much. Yes … that latter one is a bit petty … BUT I ONLY HAVE SO MUCH ROOM!

Four. Get some air: Your favorite light-hearted read

If I’m Being Honest by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka

Yes … I am ALWAYS using this book in book tags … I CAN’T HELP IT! That’s how much I fell in-love with this story and the characters in it! Cameron’s story is such a ride, full of ups and downs and laughable moments. Watching her go from this judgmental and blunt teenager to a more accepting and confident person just won me over. Part of me wishes the authors would write another book about her … even though I’m also happy with how the story ends.

Five. Clean out the kitchen cupboards: Favorite food-themed read

Funny enough … I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with a focus on food, other than some cookbooks I have.

Six. Dust the shelves: What’s the fifth book on your bookshelf?

As mentioned before, I have three different shelves … two bookshelves and then books on my TV stand. So I’m going to show the fifth book on each of those:

Seven. Wishing for the end: A 2020 release you’re really excited about

Time of Our Lives by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka

I’ve LITERALLY been waiting for a year for this book … when Goodreads showed an untitled book to be released by Emily and Austin in 2020, I seriously flipped out! And the DAY you could pre-order it … I did. I actually just got my copy the other day, so I’ve either already started or plan to shortly!

Eight. Long but satisfying: The longest book series you’ve read

Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

This will probably remain my longest book series read for a LONG time … unless I finally get to the Wheel of Time series like I’ve been meaning to for AGES! Unfortunately, I’m not as into longer series anymore. But Harry Potter will always hold a special place in my heart. A reread is needed soon …

Tag! You’re it!

  1. I remember last May I spent all month deep cleaning, washing sweaters and putting away winter clothes. I kinda want to do it again but maaaan, it was a lot of work 😀

😀 I’m such a book hoarder, I really don’t see myself getting rid of books any time soon, even the ones I didn’t like. Lol I’m slowly building that library of my dreams.

    1. I know eh?! It’s a nice feeling to get it all cleaned … but it’s a LOT of work!

I would LOVE to keep them all … but I do NOT have the room. Once I get a bigger place, I plan to have a designated space for a wall of bookshelves … it’s going to be beautiful!

  2. I also haven’t read the Folk of the Air series yet. 🙈 I somehow never got to that hype train but I’m really curious and want to know what it’s all about so I’ll probably get to it. Have you read Capturing the Devil by Kerri Maniscalco? 👀 I ask because it’s part of one of my fav series.

    1. They are a cute author couple! So far, it’s okay. It’s getting better now … But Fitz is making me kind of mad ATM haha! I think If I’m Being Honest will always be my favourite. So I’ve heard that book one is meh … But book two and three are really good. Maybe give book two a try?

  4. I don’t think you can ever mention Austin & Emily’s books too often haha, I love that you love them as much as I do! I am so very excited to hear your thoughts on time of our lives, hope you will love it! 😀

    1. They’re just so amazing!!!! And it’s just cute that they’re a couple and write books together ❤️. So far I’m liking it, but Fitz is … I unno. I like him but I also think he’s super harsh on Lewis … I have a feeling there’s more going on with Lewis … So we shall see! I love his mom!!
