Hello beautiful people!
*sigh* … This has probably been my worst blogging month in a LONG time. To be frank, I just haven’t been as motivated to blog; it almost feels too mentally exhausting to come up with a topic and write up a post, rather than being a fun and exciting part of my day.
I do hope you are all well, and don’t worry — I’m not leaving. However, I will be making some changes to help ease me back into blogging — changing my focus around a bit.

Books I Read

Book Reviews
Rating:
Brief Thoughts: “Wild at Heart is a FANTASTIC sequel to Tucker’s Wild series, exploring new hurdles for Calla and Jonah to overcome. This goes BEYOND relationship quarrels, since Alaska has its own set of dangers and complications that Alaskans face every day. The beautifully rich and descriptive rural Alaskan setting takes your breath away, full of character and uniqueness. The introduction of new characters with the occurrence of ones from The Simple Wild brought a whole new level to this story … they’re so well developed that they feel like real people. I think that’s the BIGGEST achievement with Tucker’s novel … her stories and the characters within feel so real that you want to continue watching them grow, seeing where their lives take them next. This isn’t just a romance story … it’s about family, changes, self-discovery, survival and so much more. I don’t know if there’s going to be a sequel, but I really hope so!”
Favourite Posts of the Month
I really meant to put something here … but THAT’S how bad I’ve been at blogging … and I can’t find a way to search up all the posts I liked this past month to find the ones I really liked … sorry …
Goodreads Reading Challenge
I am now 4 book behind schedule … but I may only be 3 again when I post this, since I’m posting this a couple days before the end of the month!
2020 Reading Challenge
Bookmark Your Thoughts Blog Updates
As I mentioned before, I really haven’t been motivated to blog. Honestly, it’s more exhausting and straining as of late … to the point I confided with a fellow blogger to ask her opinion about whether I should stop blogging or not. But I think a lot of it is the types of posts I write. I love my reviews and buddy reads and bullet journal posts … but everything else has become less fun. Rather than Down the TBR Holes and Book Tags, I’d rather start doing more of the following: book recommendations, book hauls, new releases I’m excited for, book discussions, lifestyle posts, monthly goals.
So there might be some changes coming … especially regarding the types of posts I write. I also may not post as frequently as I once did, since I really want to focus on quality over quantity.
Personal Life Updates
Another reading slump … I truly think it’s the ground hog day feeling getting to me. We are still in quarantine here due to COVID … and with people not obeying social distancing, I don’t think we will be leaving it anytime soon … it’s definitely been … taxing. I’m starting to want to read again though, so hopefully June will be a better month.
The fitness challenge I participated in last month was ALMOST complete! I finished 25 out of 30 days, which I’m honestly super pleased with (especially since I started the challenge late). After a week of little fitness, my SO and I are back at it … and it feels really good. We don’t work out every day at the moment, but it’s been nice to actually change it up.
Other than that … my life consists of working from home, Sims 4 and lots of Netflix. We just finished watching a Canadian show called Schitt’s Creek … it’s so good! I was really sad to see it end, but I also really enjoyed how they didn’t prolong it … making it grow old or boring. We are now watching all the Harry Potter films in order, with a plan to watch Picard and Sense8 next (I’ve already seen Sense8, but Gray hasn’t so it’s really fun seeing his reactions to the show).

It has been a super weird time due to COVID, but thankfully we have books!

Sorry to hear about your slump. I think a lot of us are in the same situation because everything has become so monotonous, and to be honest I’m just fed up with the people who are breaking lockdown and aren’t following social distancing rules. Our government isn’t really helping either.
Good luck getting back into a fitness routine. I hope June goes well for you.

Ugh — I feel that. It’s on and off bad here. We just entered phase 2, so hopefully people will still be cautious. And thanks! So far … doing pretty good!

I feel you, darling! You described what I went through from January through April. I hope you’re able to get back into reading soon. I like the direction you’re heading with your blog. I have the words “Quality over quantity” on a Post-It note on my desk at work. I re-wrote it for my desk at home. It’s hard to believe I’ve been working from home almost every weekday for three months. It’s a bit surreal. We really liked Picard, the new Twilight Zone, and we have been blissfully enjoying Space Force on Netflix. Hugs, friend!

Awe *hugs*. Honestly — this is the first time I’ve been back on my blog in … 2 weeks? Basically, since I posted this ha-ha! Hence the late reply. I have some ideas for how I’m going to make this last. I really want to remove some of the tags and down the TBR holes and other posts … I know they’re popular, but they just don’t motivate me. I also want to revamp my reviews so they’re short and sweet but still provide enough information. I think I just need to make blogging NOT as much of my life, but I still want to be here … if that makes sense ha-ha!

This post pretty much sums up how I feel – it’s not that I’ve been in a slump it’s that it’s just all been very ‘meh.’ I also haven’t found the enthusiasm to write blog posts recently and like you wondered if that was a sign of calling it a day.
But I think (again like you!) it’s about shaking off the cobwebs a bit and it’s good that you’ve managed to work out that you don’t want to stop blogging but want to start blogging more of what you’re excited for! I’m the same way, taking a step to rethink what I want to post or not. And I’m going to scale it back hardcore too because I just don’t have the time!
The last season of Schitt’s Creek has just landed on Netflix in the UK and I’m waiting for my week off in June to binge it!!

Exactly! I honestly haven’t really posted this month because I want to take a step back and re-org my blog. I want to make it more focused on reviews and discussions and maybe some lifestyle things *I’d love to start reviewing fitness stuff I try and post about places I visit*. I hope we both find a balance!
IT’S SO GOOD! I’m so sad it ended … but I also think it’s smart that they decided to not overdo it … you know?

I’m all about shows ending on a high! I can’t wait to get watching it, I’ve started binge watching Modern Family though now so Schitt’s Creek will have to wait!

I’m missed you, Jenna. I understand if you stop blogging, but the blogging world will be a tad darker without you in it. Good luck getting back into reading. I look forward to the changes in your blog.

This last week I haven’t been able to focus on reading, blogging or blog hopping D: and I can’t really say that I’m in a slump as I want to do all of these things, but my head is just somewhere else. I hope to dedicate some time to it this weekend 🙂
Change is always good! I hope you’ll feel inspired to blog again soon, would hate to not see new posts from you in the future. I know you’ve been activite on Insta but I’m still trying to find the right balance to get back into Instagram game.. Lol

I think that’s more where I’m at … it’s like, I WANT to read and blog and all that … but my brain is just — stuck in limbo. And I want to visit everyone’s blogs but I don’t have the mental capacity to read them … which really bothers me. I’m hoping to get out of that rut soon!
I think I will be blogging again soon! I’m taking this month to figure out what I want to focus on and how I want to re-org everything to fit my style (and patience) more. Instagram is come and go for me ha-ha! I was doing good until June. But I’m hoping to get back this week! ❤

I’m so sorry you’ve been in a blogging slump, Jenna and I hope this will go away soon. Switch things up and write the kind of posts you want, give up on older ones you regularly do, brainstorm and take a moment to just stare at your blog and remember why you love it. hopefully it will all come back, that little spark and inspiration and excitation for it all. take care of yourself and take it step by step ❤ ❤
I'm sending you all the love ❤

Thank you so much, darlin’! I’ve basically been walking away and planning out a newish blog. It’s still going to be book focused, but I really want to redo certain things. I want to focus on lifestyle and travel, in addition to books. I don’t think I want to do tags and those kinds of features anymore, which is okay 🙂 I’ll probably do them from time to time — but I’ll be rather selective. Sending lots of love back! ❤

Awww I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been feeling a bit stressed & unmotivated about blogging but your content is always amazing – I know I don’t just speak for myself when I say that no matter what you post, we’ll be keen to see it 😍
As you know from our discussion about Sims CC on Instagram, my life has been utterly CONSUMED by Sims 4 but I really need to get stuck back into my study routine or I’m gonna drown 😂 It’s been great for stress relief, though!
Hope you’re having a great June so far!!! 💛💛💛

sorry to hear about your blogging slump!! i’m definitely feeling that a bit too (which is why i’m commenting on this post so late haha), it’s probably because i’ve been stuck at home for months now. but yay for keeping up with your workouts/fitness! i haven’t managed to force myself to start exercising again after doing it for 2 weeks in may but 😭😭 hope you’re having a great june, jenna!!

Jenna, love!! ❤️ I think lately most of us are feeling slumpy and generally exhausted. I think maybe it’s also due to everything that’s happening in the world right now, and it’s okay if you need a break, the best idea is to focus on yourself always. 🥰 I adore you, and you know you can contact me for anything you need 🥺🥺🥺🥺
