The Jingle Bell Book Tag

Let’s get into the festive spirit! I’m actually writing this as I watch The Christmas Chronicles (which is, so far, pretty funny). I absolutely LOVE Christmas music and winter holiday films, so this is the PERFECT tag for me. I’ve been on a serious holiday movie watching binge for the past week and a bit.

I found this on Kristin @ Kristin Kraves Books blog, who’s partaking in Blogmas this year, so definitely visit her website for a bunch of fun and festive posts! I’m not sure who created this tag, so please let me know if you do so I can update this post!

“All I Want For Christmas Is You…” || What book do you want to see under the Christmas Tree?

Swimming Lessons: Poems by Lili Reinhart

Ahhh … how I love poetry. I’ve had an appreciation for poetry for as long as I can remember. Lili Reinhard, an actress that you MAY recognize from Riverdale, is a major advocate for mental health awareness. As someone who suffers from Generalized Anxiety Disorder, I’m really interested in reading poetry from someone who also struggles with anxiety and depression.

“Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time…” || What book that you have read this year have you enjoyed the most?

The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker

This book just … it’s honestly magical, for me. It’s comical and hilarious, yet so emotional and heart-wrenching. From grief to forgiveness, Tucker’s novel really hit me hard in a number of really relatable subjects. It’s like I picked up this book EXACTLY when I needed it. You know those books that touch you in a way that you’ll always remember them? That’s this book (and series) for me.

“It’s Beginning to look a lot like Christmas…” || Which book has most festive look to it?

Wrapped Up in You by Talia Hibbert

This cover just SCREAMS Christmas! The colour scheme, the ribbon, the snowflakes, how the two on the cover are dressed … there are so many Christmas vibes! I actually just bought this for Kobo, which I’m so excited to start!

Elf || What book unleashes your inner child?

Winnie-the-Pooh by A. A. Milne

Funny enough, I didn’t actually read this until I was in high school … late high school. But my brother and I watched the cartoon all the time as kids, so it brings back that childhood nostalgia for me. There was also one Winnie-the-Pooh film, Winnie the Pooh & Christmas Too, where Pooh bear tries to get a letter back and redeliver it to the North Pole. So this book just brings back ALL the memory lane nostalgia for me.

The Grinch || Your favourite villain…

I don’t know WHY I can’t think of one … but I honestly feel stumped. Maybe I’m just too into the festive spirit to think of villains at the moment ha-ha!

The Holiday || Name your favourite TWO couples…

Dani & Zaf || Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert

I can’t get over how much I love Dani and Zaf’s connection … they just bring me so much joy! Dani and Zaf’s sarcastic bantering yet adorable nonchalant affection for one another is heart-warming, making you YEARN for a connection as strong and honest as these two. They understand one another, giving support and space when needed. I think that’s what bothered me the most about this book … I NEEDED MORE DANI AND ZAF TIME!

Calla & Jonah || The Wild series by K.A. Tucker

Ahhh … Calla and Jonah … my favourite hate to love trope couple. I usually have a hard time with this trope, which is why it’s so weird that Calla and Jonah are one of my favourite couples. I LOVE seeing them get on one another’s nerves, pranking and pestering one another. But they also have so such love and compassion for each other. I think the fact that they aren’t a perfect couple (i.e. the fights, the miscommunication, etc.) is what draws me to them. They feel so real … they struggle, but they find a solution and work together no matter what.

What book would you like to give as a present to your followers?

Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson

… it’s a book about people loving and protecting books … books that have magical powers … books that express emotion and even have supernatural beings come to life from them. I DON’T think there’s any other book that’s more PERFECT for book readers than Rogerson’s fantasy novel.

Tag! You’re it!

I’m honestly just tagging anyone who wants to partake in this. I don’t know who does and doesn’t celebrate Christmas, so I figure it best to not tag anyone out of respect. But whether you celebrate this holiday or not, feel free to participate!

  1. This is such a cool tag! I love it! Oh my gosh, Sorcery of Thorns is SO GOOD, I would totally gift it to followers because yeah, it’s about magic books! (I swear I’ve mentioned that like five times at the least on my blog)
I love how a lot of these questions are based from songs. Hmmm favorite villain…I’d have to say oh wow okay I can’t think of anything for that either.
