What a cute story! Bellefleur’s adorable and sexy queer romcom just blew me away. From the character development to the fake relationship trope, I devoured this book within days.

Our MCs, Elle and Darcy, could NOT be more opposite, so to say their fake relationship was rocky at first is an understatement! But watching this relationship unfold from fake to real felt magical. The character development between the two was paced well, Bellefleur making sure not rush both their individual growth and as a couple. And let’s be real, Elle’s goofy personality mixed with Darcy’s seriousness just made everything so much more hilarious! Oh! And that steam factor! ON POINT! Darcy and Elle’s sexual intimacy was just electrifying. All these scenes were really well written, bringing that sensual factor to the max!

The friendship between Elle and her roommate, Margot, was beautiful to explore; I loved their healthy and intimate friendship, not pushing or hurting one another (yes for no girl on girl hate between friends)!

An #ownvoices LGBTQ+ novel, Bellefleur beautifully captures the depth and radiance of Elle and Darcy’s growing love for one another. I think the BEST thing about this novel is queerness isn’t QUESTIONED … it’s just another form of love. So many books show the hardships faced by those in the LGBT community, which is important! But I appreciate how Bellefleur simply shows Elle and Darcy’s love in a positive light, how it should be.

That ending though … it was SO abrupt, leaving me wondering if the publisher forgot to add a chapter or too. It’s a happy ending, but one that didn’t give me the closure I wanted. And the amount of things left unaddressed still bothers me.

Overall, I’m super happy I was gifted this book (TYSM @foreverbookedup !), because it’s was so much fun to read. I honestly can’t wait to get my hands on another book by Bellefleur!
