Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennett || Book Review

After an awkward first encounter, Birdie and Daniel are forced to work together in a Seattle hotel where a famous author leads a mysterious and secluded life in this romantic contemporary novel from the author of Alex, Approximately.

Mystery-book aficionado Birdie Lindberg has an overactive imagination. Raised in isolation and homeschooled by strict grandparents, she’s cultivated a whimsical fantasy life in which she plays the heroic detective and every stranger is a suspect. But her solitary world expands when she takes a job the summer before college, working the graveyard shift at a historic Seattle hotel.

In her new job, Birdie hopes to blossom from introverted dreamer to brave pioneer, and gregarious Daniel Aoki volunteers to be her guide. The hotel’s charismatic young van driver shares the same nocturnal shift and patronizes the waterfront Moonlight Diner where she waits for the early morning ferry after work. Daniel also shares her appetite for intrigue, and he’s stumbled upon a real-life mystery: a famous reclusive writer—never before seen in public—might be secretly meeting someone at the hotel.

To uncover the writer’s puzzling identity, Birdie must come out of her shell…discovering that the most confounding mystery of all may be her growing feelings for the elusive riddle that is Daniel.

Beach Read by Emily Henry || Book Review

Oh my … Henry’s Beach Read was WAY better than I was expecting! Honestly, I should’ve started reading it the DAY I purchased it. January and Augustus are such AMAZING characters, and Henry’s side characters are so full of personality!

I didn’t really understand what people meant when they kept saying this is more than a romance novel … but now I see what they mean. Henry’s beautiful story really dives into so many complex issues and struggles, tearing your emotions apart. We really need more novels like this.

Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert || Book Review

I honestly don’t know which book I enjoyed more: Get a Life, Chloe Brown or Take a Hint, Dani Brown. Both of Hibbert’s novels made me laugh so hard and fall madly in love with the characters. Getting to know Chloe’s sister, Dani, was such a grand experience. Dani and Chloe have such VASTLY different personalities, making each book special in their own way.

And for those worried that the stories are carbon copies of one another, think again. Hibbert does a brilliant job of crafting a unique story for each of the two Brown sisters, making the reading experience so much more entertaining!

WARNING: There are MINOR spoilers in this book to Get a Life, Chloe Brown, so make sure you read the first book before reading the sequel. However, the spoilers are NOT in this review.

Forever Wild by K.A. Tucker || ARC Review

To be honest folks, I don’t know if I should jump for joy or sit in a corner and cry. Have you ever read a book or series that just SPOKE to you at a time when you needed it most? Tucker’s Wild series has been that series for me, helping me mourn recent losses and find that SPARK in life.

I know … this might sound rather dramatic to some, but it’s almost like this series was a form of self-therapy for me. So as happy as I am that Tucker brought these beloved characters back, I’m so sad to have to say goodbye. Alright … let’s get to that review!

WARNING: Before you proceed, there will be SPOILERS to the previous two books if you haven’t read them (I can’t really review it without mentioning some). So PLEASE do not read any further if you wish to keep the spoilers at bay!

Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert || Book Review

There are SO many people who recommended this series for me, so I finally went and picked it up. OH MY GOSH!! THIS WAS SUCH AN ADORABLE STORY!! I love Chloe so much, wishing she was my real-life friend and not only a character in a novel! Hibbert has become a new author that I’ll be keeping an eye out for!

This layout is a little different … no real bullet points or pros and woes lists. The only way I could really write this review was to simply just WRITE IT OUT! Hopefully, the structure has worked out!

Heartstopper: Volume Three by Alice Oseman || Book Review

Oseman’s graphic novel series puts me in such a happy and nostalgic mood; the beautiful and blossoming relationship between Nick and Charlie just melts my heart! The third volume is my FAVOURITE in the series so far … the change in scenery was a really fun surprise! And the focus on more of the side characters really brought the story to life! I NEED MORE!
